THE POLITICAL CORRECTNESS : IS POLITICAL CORRECTNESS A SCOURGE ?

According to people’s mind, America has always been known has an unequivocally puritan land : its inhabitants are told to be very attached to religion, appearances and positive behavior in front of others. By basing on these stereotypes, an important issue comes up : political correctness, most commonly called “the Politically Correct”. Coming about in the 1970’s, it reffered to the use of language that would not cause an individual of any demographic (social or cultural) group to feel excluded or offended. But we, French people, have an outisde vision of the topic, thus this will be about to prove how political correctness in America has evolved from its creation to the meaning it has nowadays.
