SPACES AND EXCHANGES Through trade, conquest, emigration and communication, nations have always influenced others beyond their borders and have always been influenced, culturally, economically or politically. Geographically, our world has never seemed smaller, thanks to the globalisation, wich have accelerated the rhythm of exchanges. Peoples and nations, thanks to this evolution, now keep on borrowing the languages and cultures of other peoples and nations at an ever increasing rate, thus deeply transforming our world. The United States of America is the best example of an ever changing nation. Barack Obama said « We are the first nation to be founded for the sake of an idea », this idea is freedom, one of the pillar of the American Dream, wich encouraged a lot of strangers to immigrate in this country. This phenomen...

« They are therefore treated differently most of the time, especially by the police, which has an unfriendly attitude towards them.

Different treatment is one of the obstacles to the integration of all immigrants.

As the language barrier, which doesn't facilitate integration, to find a job, they must necessarily be able to speak English.

However, the Hispanic population now accounts for 43 million of the U.S.

population, they were able to impose their culture, but also give rise to the birth of a new language: Spanglish.

Instead, the comic strip La Cucaracha by Lalo Al Caraz, shows that Spanglish is a help for newcomers, but the long-term immigrants speak perfect English.

This language is thus extended even among Americans, as shown in the figure of the "English only foundation", which also speak Spanglish.

In addition, this population has not had an impact only on language but also on the food for example, the number of Mexican restaurant is impressive, there are Taco Bell in almost every street.

Immigration has shaped the nation culturally and linguistically, and to paraphrase the Mexican in the comics: "this country is stronger beacause of the contributions of different cultures". »
