(Beautiful Voice) Greek One of the
Muses, generally considered as the first and most
important. Calliope was the patron of epic (heroic)
stories and poems. She was the daughter of Mnemosyne
and Zeus and, some say, the mother of
Orpheus. She is portrayed in art with a tablet and
stylus and sometimes with a trumpet.
