Consider the presentation of love in The Eve of St. Agnes

The Eve of St. Agnes was written by John Keats in 1819, and is widely considered to be among his finest poems. The foundation of this poem is the legend of St. Agnes. Keats bases his poem on the belief that a young girl could see her future husband in a dream if she performed certain rites on the Eve of St. Agnes. If she went to bed supper less without looking behind her and lay on her back with her hands under her head, he would appear in her dream, kiss her and feast with her. However, subjectivity is a strong characteristic of the romantic poets, and the poem also contains elements which unveil Keats' own perception of love.
