1) There are 2 characters in this passage.

The first one is Holly, a lady who considers like as a florist because she sells flowers every day.  She is collocated with Addison.

The second is Addison, a man who becomes withdrawn, an unsociable man in the real life. There hasn’t any information on his probable jobs but we can suppose he works in the computers because he is always on his computers.

2) The scene takes place in England, more specifically in London, in the flat of Addison and Holly.

3) a) It’s true: “Sorry to disturb” (line1), “I won’t bother you again” (line 8-9)

    b) It’s true: “since we lived together” (line 3)

    c) It’s true: “ I swallowed. My voice seemed to echo in the empty room” (line 5)

    d) It’s false: “Then, when he didn’t reply, I started to get annoyed.” (line 6)

4) The author puts “excuse” in italics because Holly is annoyed. This isn’t an excuse real, indeed, here, the author uses irony.

5) a) “He was … well, just spectacularly beautiful.” ; “Just, like, Oh my GAWD!” (line 13-14)

    b) “He still hadn’t even bothered turning round!” (line 7)

6) The right equivalent for “I got very London.” is the second proposition –I spoke more and more like a Londoner.

7) a) “caught up in” (line 20)

    b) “He stared his band again” (line 26)

    c) “I presume” (line28)

    d) “He blinked” (line 34)

    e) “time to say hello” (line 37)

    f) “to regard me impassively” (line 38)

8) Addison Madison is a character of some western and Holly maybe calls Addison like that for give a little of humor.

9) The adjective that best describes Holly’s feeling in the end is “surprised”. In fact, Holly is surprise because instead of to start all over again and make new knowledge, Addison returns on his computer ignoring the existence of Holly.

Traduction:
