DIALOGUE- A hopeless case?

Mother: Hello doctors. Do you have any results yet? What is my son’s condition?

Doctor 1: Hello ma’am, I am afraid that our analysis hasn’t brought anything positive.

Mother: What do you mean?

Doctor 2: Well you see madam; we think that your son suffers from a mentally defective sickness that cannot be cured. He has no reflexes or coordination what so ever.

Doctor 2: Let me show you these X-rays. As you can see the shafts of the bones, that we call diathyses, are unusually thin. And the centre of the bones, that we call metaphyses, appear to be quite large, actually rather ballooning.

Doctor 1: His very appearance is proof of his low brain activity. Take a look at his irregular posture!

Mother: [shocked] Are you absolutely sure? There must be some way to cure this.

Doctor 2: I am terribly sorry Mrs. Brown. Nothing can be done for him. It is a hopeless case.

Mother: You cannot just give up on him that easily. It is inhuman and against God’s will!

Doctor 1: Now calm down madam, everything we can do has already been done, but it has not shown any positive results.

Doctor 2: You should not put your trust in him, he is just born as an imbecile, and there’s nothing more we can do. It is beyond our power.

Mother: I will not give up on my own son! I am sure that he is human creature just like anyone else; I have no doubt in him.

Doctor 2: You can trust us, I advise you not to get your hopes up, there is only the inevitable truth in what we say and you must accept what your son really is. I find your lack of faith in modern medicine impertinent.

Mother: I have faith only in God. Even though his appearance shows his disability, I know that inside he is as smart as any other boy. If you doctors will not do anything to help him, well I’ll just have to take matters into my own hands.
