Dear Elisabeth,

Thank you for your letter, I am glad everyone is going well.

As you can guess I’m writing to tell you about Jane’s latest stupidity. Jane, an orphan attacked my lovely son. Can you believe it? She hurt John once again and this time he swore that he hadn’t done anything. Indeed, he told me that he interrupted her while she was writing in a book from my bookshelves. Then apparently when he asked her to stop it and put the book on the shelves, she kept on damaging the book. But seriously what is the problem with this kid? I welcomed her at my house and feed her. She should be thanking me for my kindness instead of beating my poor son. And I can assure you that she hit him as hard as you can imagine. John shouted like he never did. Furthermore, could you believe that she is only ten? Why couldn’t she behave like a normal ten year old girl? But really I don’t know what I’m going to do with her. Well, obviously I shouldn't have provided her a living in the first place. It’s not like she is my own child, is it?

Right now, I locked her in the red room so that she could think over her behavior!

I’m planning to send Jane to a boarding school. At least then I hope I don’t have to bear her every single day.

Please let me know your thoughts about it, I really need your advice this time!

Say hello to John for me.

Looking forward to hearing from you soon, yours,

                                                                                          Mrs. Reed.
