NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration). organisme chargé, aux États-Unis, de tout ce qui concerne la recherche spatiale. Il a été créé le 29 juillet 1958 par le président Eisenhower pour orienter et coordonner l'activité spatiale du pays, face aux succès soviétiques. Il a commencé ses activités en lançant le programme de vols habités Mercury.
