Remus. frère légendaire de Romulus, à qui la tradition attribue la fondation de Rome au VIII e siècle avant J.-C. Il fut tué par son frère pour avoir violé l'enceinte de la ville, dont Romulus avait indiqué le tracé par un sillon.
