« Our first documents, ?Net Danger? a prevention poster made by the Australian government is a case in point. Or There is no clearer example of that than the prevention poster made by the Australian Government ?Net Danger?  itself.

This poster targeted the parental generation in an attempt to warn them against the different type of dangers that their children will have to face while using the internet.

On this document, we can see a young boy, maybe 6 or 7 years old, staring at something.

We can easily imagine that he is facing a screen. Above him, a menu, like the one that we could find on any internet site's front page.

Thanks to the mouse you can select different items / or different categories of people such as ?Friends, Footy, Fans, Gamers or Paedophiles?.

Just under the boy, a sentence ?Just some of the people he can meet on the Internet?.

This sentence shows 2 things : -          The poster is aimed at parents -          That when you are ?talking? with someone on the internet you actually never know who is really the person behind the screen.

Its goal is to help them to realize that the internet is not a safe environment for their children.

  This campaign rely on the following concept, If you are aware of a danger then you are supposed to be able to avoid it, and then the internet environment should become safe. But this is theory, actually, those campaigns are really important and contribute to make the internet a safer world, but there is and will always be some danger usinf these new technologies.

The threat changes as well as the technology evolves. We must keep in mind that on the internet there is no such thing as zero risk.   Another major problem on the internet is the storage of all kind of informations about our private life. This is what Jeffrey rosen's article ?The end of forgetting? tries to show us.

The purpose of this article is to make people aware of the dangers of personal exposure on the web.

It raises one question : ?how best to live our lives in a world where the Internet records everything and forgets nothing - where every online photo, status update, Twitter post and blog entry by and about us can be stored forever ??. »
