The prohibition in the United States I-What was prohibition ? The prohibition is the interdiction to product, sell or buy alcohol. Prohibition in the United States was a national ban on the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcohol, in place from 1920 to 1933.It was an infamous time in American history that is often thought of as silly, or wasteful. It is often referred to as the "Great Experiment" Prohibition was a period of nearly fourteen years of U.S. history ..it was The ratification of the 18th amendment passed on october 28,1919 which banned alcohol. It was also the first and only time an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was repealed Why prohibition was established? The prohibition was established for several reasons: People noticed that the alcohol was bad for the health Workers were absent in the work because they were drunk Some Politicians had promised the prohibition to be elected.
