Hyperion (The One Above) Greek One of the
Titans; son of Uranus and Gaia; father with Theia
of Helios, Selene, and Eos (the Sun, the Moon, and
Dawn). Hyperion is sometimes used as the name for
the Sun itself. Earlier mythologies name Helios as
the Sun. In some accounts, Hyperion, like Helios, is
identified with Apollo.
