Plus tard, c'est dans un accès de folie produ it par Héra que
le demi-dieu tue ses enfants. En gu ise d'expiation, il doit
accomplir les Douze Travaux. Or, il s'avère que plusieurs des
monstres qu'il affronte, tels le lion de Némée et l'Hydre de
Lerne, ont été élevés par Héra elle-même. En outre, lorsque
l'on vient trop aisément à bout d'une épreuve, Héra intervient:
Héraclès s'étant rapidement emparé de la ceinture de la reine
Hyppolité, il doit encore affronter les autres Amazones,
dressées contre lui par la déesse.
