Greek Warlike people of ancient
Thessaly, in the eastern part of the Greek mainland,
who accompanied the hero Achilles into battle in
the Trojan War. According to some legends, the
Myrmidons were ants turned into people by Zeus
to increase the population of Thessaly after a plague
sent by his wife, Hera, had killed thousands.
