Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve. Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, parc national des États-Unis, situé dans le nord de l'Alaska. Créé en 1980 et couvrant une superficie de 30 448 km2, le Gates of the Arctic National Park (ou « parc national des portes de l'Arctique «) doit son nom aux deux pics qui encadrent et délimitent la zone. Au nord du cercle polaire arctique, le parc est pour l'essentiel constitué d'une vaste étendue de toundra ; le paysage comprend également de larges vallées et les sommets déchiquetés de la chaîne de Brooks, qui représente l'extrémité nord des montagnes Rocheuses. Le parc abrite par ailleurs une faune variée : caribou de l'Arctique, ours gris, orignal, mouton de Dall, loup et différents oiseaux de proie.
