Corinth - Mythology. Greek A city in the northeast Peloponnesus, strategically situated on the isthmus connecting Peloponnesus with central Greece. Corinth was one of the largest and most powerful cities of ancient Greece, a rival of Athens and traditionally allied with Sparta. Corinth traded with east and west and established numerous colonies.
