Dardanell es - Mythology. Greek The strait between Europe and Asian Turkey, connecting the Aegean Sea with the Sea of Marmara. It is 40 miles long and one to five miles wide. In ancient times, it was called the Hellespont, which means "bridge to the Hellenes," or Greece.
