My favorite artwork: The mask of the queen Setdjehouti The mask of the sarkophagus of Setdjehouti is an artwork of the 17th dynasty of Egypt. She has an important scientific an historic signification, because with the inscription it close a missing part of the genealogy of the Ahmosides. The mask is 60.3 cm broad and 34cm wide. It's impressive which materials (mulberry-wood, copper, marble and obsidian) were used for the realization of this artwork. Inside of the mask are hieroglyphic inscriptions. There is named the title, the name and the origins of the person represented, Setdjehouti. Setdjehouti, the queen and the wife of the king Teti-Scheri and the ancestress of the Ahmosides. The members of the king family of the Ahmosides are buried in monumental wood coffins with human forms, like the wood mask of Setdjehouti. I appreciate and like this artwork very much, because it's not a very famous artwork like the mask of Tutanchamun or other artworks. When I saw the first time this mask in a museum, I was captivated by the richness and her beautiful appearance. It surprises me and impressioned me when I saw the inscriptions at the inside of the mask, because I knew at this time that this is unique on the world.
