Emaciated face dyed very pale, very fine brown hair and captivating smile. Frail, small, enough muscle, he makes remark for his stamina and his surprising working capacity. His nervous resistance is big although he is impatient and irascible. His memory is prodigious. Very organized worker, his attention is always awakens it. He has the sense of justice, of the friendship, as for his strategic genius, he was recognized by his friends as his enemies.
His attitude face to face women corresponds to the Corsican male universe. The women have to dedicate themselves to the family life and to the worldly life, but never have political role.
Its desire to dominate the world and this thirst of glory doubtless come from its childhood, years spent to Bienne where he was « foreigner », « poor » and grant holder and where we laughed at him. He then spent time reading: Alexander the Great, Caesar, August, Charlemagne, his models, were for him the highest symbols of the greatness of man: he saw analogies between his fate (/ destiny )and that of his idols. When he will be an emperor, Caesar's bust will be in his study.
You will have guess, we speak about Napoleon 1st, this French military leader who will enlarge the French borders a lot. He confronted with the Commonwealth which defeat him.

In this sentence Napoleon explains that he does not have any enemies which could defeat him whereas his own success and his own glory. When he said that, he wanted to explain that France was the most powerful and strongest country in Europe. Therefore, that was pretentious, maybe too much, because finally a European country could beat him and his arm: England.
England was the enemy of Napoleon. Nelson was a leader in the British army; he defeated Napoleon at Abukir and at Trafalgar. Wellington was a British war chief who defeated Bonaparte at Waterloo. During the Napoleon reign, George III directed England, who is a very popular king; his nickname was « Farmer George ». He is not a very important figure in Europe at the Napoleon's period, because he was a very ill man, he suffered of porphyry.
Napoleon Bonaparte fought a lot against England, because it's was the only country who could resist to his army in all Europe. That is why we are going to study what the influence of England on Napoleon's reign was.
In a first part, we will approached the question of the differences or common points between these two powers that are England and France. Then, we shall concentrate on military campaigns enter both major powers. Finally, we shall study the image Napoleon in his time, in France, and in England.
