Oral d'anglais : The idea of progress

The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change – a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place. In this notion, we focused on the evolution of the textile industry in the UK and the new phenomenon it lives : outsourcing which is a practice used by companies to reduce costs by transferring portions of work to outside suppliers rather than completing it internally. But, does outsourcing represent progress for the textile industry ? To answer to this question, we are going to talk first about fast fashion, then we will talk about the evolution of cottonopolis in the UK and India, and finally we will look at the limits of outsourcing and if there is a possibility for a better future.
