Extrait du document

Roman Goddess of courage and bravery, called upon by soldiers in battle. While her origins appear to be very old, Virtus was often worshiped in more recent Roman times with Honos, the god of honor. Military leaders also built temples to Virtus near the sites of successful battles and conquests. Virtus appears frequently on Roman coins, wearing a helmet and carrying a sword. She eventually took on the characteristics of Arete, a minor Greek goddess of virtue.
