PETER (entering the room, hiding something in his back) : Hi, darling ! I was...

ANNA : PETER ! I'm sure you were as usually in pubs with friends of yours !

PETER : But, no, darling, I was rightly doing...

ANNA (angry) : Don't try to apologize yourself ! It's too late, this time ! Since I married you, it's always been the same... You're just able to spend the money of my family without any scruple, neither thanks !

PETER : But this time, I was...

ANNA (do not listen) : Oh, Peter, it's as the time when you left the home, saying you were going to John... and then you came back home only two days later ! Have you thought about the children? Oh, my poor money spent in nonsenses ! The money of my high family !

PETER (clenching his fists) : Since your spending are better than mine? Always buy bigger and bigger TVs ? Repaint the living room in cobalt blue because klein blue is old looking? Remember that, to please the children, you don't spent a coin ever !

ANNA (offended) : Oh ! It's false ! I have no right to spend my money as I please?

PETER (laughing) : Sure, the money of your (imitating her) high family ! Your great and noble family ! Did you hear that the time of the nobility is over?

ANNA (increasingly offended) : Oh ! I never heard such an insult ! I wish I had never married you !

PETER : What about me ? I have to bear yours whims, your spendings, your “great family”... But I'm still loving you ! And this morning, I left home while you were sleeping, I bought you flowers, I bought us a trip to Italy... And then you expected that I was in pubs !

ANNA (surprised and confused) : Oh, Peter, I don't know what to say, I just...

PETER (laughing) : Don't worry, darling ! This quarrel in not the first and not the last, but it is as good as we cut is short...
