Johannes Clauberg was a member of the Cartesian school in the years immediately following Descartes' death,
and is extremely important as an early expositor of Descartes and a spirited defender of the Cartesian philosophy.
His writings include a number of direct commentaries on Descartes' published works, as well as extensions and
elaborations of the master's views.
