(1622-65) Johannes Clauberg was a member of the Cartesian school in the years immediately following Descartes' death, and is extremely important as an early expositor of Descartes and a spirited defender of the Cartesian philosophy. His writings include a number of direct commentaries on Descartes' published works, as well as extensions and elaborations of the master's views.
