Rodents Did you know that your pet hamster is a rodent? Rodents are small mammals with large, sharp front teeth. Besides hamsters, rodents include mice, rats, gerbils, guinea pigs, beavers, and muskrats. There are about 2,000 different species (kinds) of rodents, and they live in almost all parts of the world.
