INTRODUCTION Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics.

Racial separatism is the belief, most of the time based on racism, that different races should remain segregated and apart from one another. 3 II.

USA: George Floyd  The death of George Floyd is a case of American police violence caused by the death of the eponymous African American during his arrest by the white police officer Derek Chauvin, on May 25, 2020 in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States. 5  George Floyd was arrested by four police officers in his car, handcuffed and pressed to the ground on his stomach.

He is held on the ground by Derek Chauvin, by prolonged pressure of his knee on Floyd's neck.

The arrest and the agony of the African-American are filmed by passersby, who signal that the victim is dying. The images spread on social networks, then in the media, internationally. 6 7  The officers present were dismissed from the police the next day and two investigations were opened, including one by the FBI.
