Why is online studying dangerous for students?

« “We need to get used to a new fashion of studying, kids.

Install Zoom on your computers and get ready to stay at home.” That was what 17 million of students in Russia heard from teachers in March 2020 notorious for the moment when children were stripped of traditional lessons at school.

Online studying intrinsically became a challenge and not all the students coped with it.

Had I known that pandemic measures would have so devastating consequences for education, I would ban the Chinese from breeding bats.

Sitting at home, I started to forget what a real communication is.

Now I have a strong carving to prohibit this type of lessons because having passed 3 months on isolation, I felt all the shortcomings of studying online.

They incorporate negative effects for a health, the lack of communication between children and non-functionality of online learning. Back pain, red and dry eyes… Not a nightmare, but a portrait of student who passed the whole day in front of his computer.

It is inevitable that online studying be harmful for a health.

To begin with, a posture suffers from a sedentary lifestyle. Children hunch and get diseases because back muscles become weaker.

Moreover, bright screens of gadgets spoil the vision and drain eyes.

A lot of children start to use glasses after an excessive usage of smartphones and computers.

What’s more, remote lessons induce mental illnesses.

Without a real contact with friends and a change of ambience children tend to feel exhausted.

In other words, doctors usually make recommendation that online lessons be banned in order to avoid medical problems. When my little brother was sitting at home during a pandemic, he said me that he forgot what his friends in his kindergarten looked like.

Hardly ever have I understood him so much.

I also starved conversations with my friends.

Isolation makes a gut punch to social skills.

Firstly, children don’t receive an experience of communication with friends.

They stay at home, don’t leave.... »
