1)Complétez le texte suivant en mettant les verbes entre parenthèses au prétérit ou au plus-que-parfait:

2)Traduisez les phrases suivantes en français:

1)Une fois que le guerrier eut reconnu le poing, il compris que le soldat blanc était venu en paix et avait changé ses plans.

2)Les indiens devaient penser que Dunbar était venu les attaquer.

3)Le soldat blanc fut ignoré par la tribue. Il aurait aussi bien pu venir de la lune.

3)Traduisez les phrases suvantes en français:

2)Fill in the blanks to complete the summary of the text:

3)The point of view if from Annawake, an indian who was in the camps. It's justify by the way he's telling the story: things he have seens..

 

b)From line 3 to 9

1)  « those mountains » were importants for Annawake's people because it was the place of their origines:

l.4: « all our stories are set in those mountains »; « we'd lived there since the beginning »

2)The white excuse for deporting was that indians interfered their farms:

l.5: « european immigrants decided our prior claim to the land was interfering with their farming »

3)The army used their forces to destroye the place:

l.5-L.7: « the army knocked on our doors »; « stole the crockery and the food »; « burn down the houses and took everybody into detention camps »

 

c)From line 10 to 18

2)The food was dangerous because indian haven't eaten other food than theirs before:

d)Read again carefully the end of the text from line 16 onwards

 

  1. « Alice uncrosses and crosses her arms over her chest »: In one hand, Alice were dissapointed by the horros of the story she was hearring, maybe she had immagined herself at the place of the mothers. Then she must had thought about discrimination, she might feel nervous. In other hand she might didn't realised that something like this could happened in more that it was a story from someone she knew, then she had to admetted that it happen and that Annawake would live with those souvenirs during all his life. -79 words-

 

  1. TRADUCTION

From line 3 to line 9:

C'est arrivé en 1838. Nous étions chassés de nos demeures au sud des terres d'Appalache qui se situaient au Tennessee dans la Caroline du Nord. Toute notre histoire fait partie de ses montagnes parce qu'on a toujours été la-bas, jusqu'à ce que les immigrés européens eurent décrétés que nos terres heurtaient trop leurs fermes. Alors un matin, l'armée bloqua les portes de nos maisons, ils volèrent les nourritures et les vaisselles, mirent le feu aux maisons et emmenèrent tous le monde aux camps de détention. Les familles furent diviser, personnes ne savaient ce qu'il se passait. Ils firent marcher tous le monde vers l'ouest jusqu'à des terres sans valeurs que personnes ne voulaient.
