The campaign Love Myself of Unicef was launched in November 2017 made in
association with the group BTS.
The leader of this group, RM, gives a speech solemn on September
24, 2018, in New York before united nations general assembly.
It addresses to members of this
assembly but also to the world’s youth.
This campaign promotes self-esteem and well-being in
youth.
BTS organized several actions.
They created stands of informations and of prevention about
violence during their concerts.
They gather three million six hundred thousand of dollars to help
Unicef to put a stop to violence and abuses for youngsters.
BTS realizes also a partnership with the
#ENDviolence of Unicef, which advocates the right of feel safe for all children.
They refer to this
campaign in the album "Love Yourself : Answer".
They create the sentence "I purple you" because
purple symbolize love and that they say that the most important is love oneself.

The orator explains that the true first love is to love oneself because it’s necessary for be
happy but also to be able to love and be loved.
He says that his life changed when He became aware
of the judgment of others even if his childhood was happy in a enjoyable village.
It has been a
source of suffering because he stoped to be himself to become as others.
He implies that it’s
impossible to be really happy without being oneself.
Clinging to his passion, music, has allowed
him to become who he is again.
He realized what he really wanted and liked.
The music allowed
him express feelings in song lyrics.
He is himself in the music.
He tells his story and we understand
that he has learned to love himself despite its mistakes.
He explains that it’s important to become
aware of no matter the mistakes you make, you stay the same person and you have to accept
yourself as such.
During the campaign Love Myself, the group BTS have received many testimonies
from people who don’t have self-confidence.
This shows that their struggle is necessary and
important.
BTS have influence on young people and can use it to show the importance of loving and
accepting oneself despite our differences and mistakes.
In conclusion, the spokesperson highlights
that the most important is to listen to yourself and succeed to being yourself without taking into
account the opinions of others.

The leader of BTS use different strategies to make this speech effective.
He alludes to the music
group that he leads and he mentions his stage name and album Love Yourself.
This is a reminder of
their great popularity with young people and therefore their influence.
It makes the speech more
convincing to youth.The orator uses his story to structure the speech.
It captures the audience’s
attention.
By talking about his mistakes, he conveys the message that despite his notoriety, he is still
an ordinary person with flaws.
He also shows this by saying that he comes from a small town.
He
tells his personal experience to create proximity and intimity with his audience.
It legitimises and
gives credibility to his struggle for self-acceptance because he speaks from his own experience.
He
compliments his fans and thanks them, it creates a complicity between them, a little like a
community.
He emphasises that it is important to help each other.
He uses many rhetorical questions
to make the audience pay attention.
Some questions launch simple reflections such as "What excites
you and makes your hearth beat ?" to help the audience to begin to love and know oneself.
The
spokesperson is eloquent because he speaks with a calm and serious tone and uses a slow rhythm to
give importance to each word.
